Penn State York Athletic Director, Jeff Barkdoll, was recently recognized for his significant contribution toward New Soccer Referee Training and Certification in York.

We would like to proudly recognize our Athletic Director, Jeff Barkdoll, for his significant contribution toward New Soccer Referee Training and Certification in York in January of 2026.
Through the Eastern PA Soccer Association (EPSA) and it's Referee Committee (EPSARC), it has been seen that, per Ron Burnett, President, EPSA, the new referees trained at the PSU-York location over a year and a half yielded 17% of the total referees certified and significantly contributed toward EPSA's goal for attaining pre-pandemic soccer referee numbers to support youth, adult, and amateur soccer leagues and tournaments.

The plaque the Jeff holds reads:
"On this day, January 18, 2026, the EPSA and EPSARC by this honorarium, recognizes Jeff Barkdoll, Penn State York Athletic Director, in his unwavering support of the Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association Referee Committee and the United States Soccer Referee Program for his commitment to referee development at Penn State University York Campus since 2024. By his direct action, Mr. Barkdoll secured the western region of this state association in referee development, to which we will always be eternally grateful."
Congratulations to Mr. Jeff Barkdoll for this tremendous award and his commitment to not only our campus, but to the world of athletics as a whole. WE ARE so happy to have him as part of our Penn State York family!
